Micro-Adjuster For A Router Table Fence

Micro-Adjuster For A Router Table Fence

By Rod Kirby

The “fixed” end of the threaded rod is attached to the fence, but the whole assembly is easily removed. The holes in the brackets (router fence side) are actually threaded - the dome nuts are just for appearance. The front wood mounting block is threaded, the rear (support) block just has a ¼” hole. I’ve found I don’t need to have a fixed rule. The fence slides on thin UHMW feet, which provide enough clearance to slide the rule under the fence. When I need to move the fence, I just slip it under (butted against the ½” MDF base), and then remove it. Because of the UHMW slides, and because the fence is essentially “balanced”, it moves smoothly with virtually no “swing”, which means that I don’t need any guide bars.
