I'm on 89 st, between Jamaica Ave and 88 Ave (1 block south). I also went to RHHS, but I was a bit of a trouble maker back then. I'm sure you remember Mr Dinner? He and I were well acquainted through detention. The vice principal, (his name escapes me at the moment) was so anxious to get me out of the school, he called my mother in and sat us down and told her the academic life was not for me! He actually got me my first job at the Swingline stapler factory in LIC. I lasted until lunch time.
You may know my brother Lester Fellows, he was a year and a half older than me and went there at the same time. He lives in England now, has for about 40 years, went there directly from the army.
Also Eric (ricky) White, a life long friend who lives in Fl now was in the same time frame.

That is funny because I double-dipped too. After I got out, my employer paid full tuition for my Master's degree and I was still eligible for the GI Bill (Montgomery). It was a nice part time job!
I worked on the MK 19 and the MK 27 but was always more of a voice communications and atmosphere monitoring guy than navigation. But, I was an instructor before I got out and I taught pretty much everything, including the Mk 19 - the shorter 4 week school, not the long 19 week version. We still had some training videos dubbed from film that I am sure you would recognize.
