    What is this belt called?

I have a Craftsman Belt and Disc Sander, bought years ago on Craigslist for $20.
It does not look pretty, but worked pretty good till yesterday, when a belt that connects the motor to the disc/sanding table broke.

I just can't find out what this belt is called, if it is called a belt at all. The parts list I can google don't help much.

(that's the only picture on the 'net I could find that shows that belt.)

Yes, I could (maybe should) just replace the sander itself, but if I can get the belt for cheap...

    Drive belt.
I cannot tell what type of belt it is. Could be a timing belt.
If so, you can measure the old one and get replacements. A picture or two of the old one will be helpful.

We use to call them a lot of things but I think the proper term is a syncro-cog belt. The sander is a craftsman so Sears.parts should have it. I had very good luck finding parts for about everything they sell there.

Well, whadyaknow! Timing belt, cog belt, both worked! Once you have the right term, google comes thru!

By diligently cleaning up the surface and squinting hard, I also found out the model # is 113.226423,

and this is the part list : http://www.manualslib.com/manual/496...?page=6#manual

And here they tell how I replace it:
Craftsman 113.226423 Manual Online: installing sanding disc plate, Set Screw. 1. Locate Sanding Disc P_Ate, Sanding Disc, One Setscrew 1/4.20Xl/4 Inch, And A 1/8 Inch Hex Wrench, 2. Just Start Screw Into Threaded Hole In Sanding Plate. : I• •! • : • • _ ;Ii_ :,_ :Timing3Elt Tension...

And I found this vendor selling it cheaper than Sears:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o00_s00

        Thanks guys!
