It was a beautiful story, but why unhappy? Sounds like he lived a long, productive life and then got frail and passed away. It'll happen to most of us. Best to keep plugging away while we still can. Then we pass it on to the next generation...Jeff

Man, I really get choked up reading about these fellas. My Dad was one who would never talk about the war. I never found out until last year at Mother's 90th birthday party that for a year after he got home he would shutter and look for cover when he heard an airplane. She said that he felt that he was a coward. Shot one and shrapnel in a leg once and he's a coward? Man, I can barely tolerate the continued volly of fireworks on the 4th of July. What they went through was 10 times louder, shook you to the core and killed. God bless them for what they and all of our vets have endured- sniff!!Blessings,
