    Sparky Anderson dies

I used to think he was at least 20 years older.
Sometimes the old man passed out and left the am radio on so I got to hear the oldie songs and current event kind of things

There was a real baseball man. There are not many like that. He left his mark on baseball forever. RIP, Sparky.

I remember 1979. I couldn't believe the Red's had fired him. Then the Tigers got him I was ecstatic. I knew good things were going to happen in Detroit because we now had a great manager we had lacked for more than a decade.
Little did I know at the time just how great he would be for the Tigers and for the Detroit area. When I heard the news tonight I was stunned. We revered him here and he will be missed.

I hear you. I remember him as a kid being in his mid 60s at that time. .

        Strange how perceptions age.

Sorry to hear about his demise.

I used to like to go to Tiger's Stadium as a child. Another loss, there.
