Why was the thread about the new Bosch saw closed?

I wonder why that thread was closed, I can't see anything wrong with it and would have liked to comment! In any case a small note as to why when a thread is closed would be appreciated.

I have to agree with Gerd - unless it was accidentally closed, a brief explanation to end a thread when closed would be appreciated. I too might have liked to comment on how certain design features of the Bosch were reminiscent of the BT3.

Probably because it involved Saw Stop and all the issues with any discussion of that topic. I have noticed over the years that any Saw Stop discussion can get heated quickly.

I was the last one to post in that thread and may have closed it accidentally. I don't see any reason it should be closed though. There is no discussion of the thread in moderation which would have preceded the closing of of a thread. I've reopened it and I'm sure I'll be whipped one way or the other by the moderators based on whether closing it accidentally, or reopening it was incorrect.

UPDATE: I did find in the moderation log that I indeed closed the thread at the same time I posted. It was unintentional.

My guess would be Chr's clicked on the "close thread after reply" button when he replied to it. I'm sure he will serve plenty of penance for this slight mistake. I could look in the moderator log...... I'm not about pointing fingers. So thanks for bringing our error to the forefront so that we could correct it.

As a moderator once, I accidentally hit an "edit post" when I meant to hit to reply, and except for one line, wiped out a whole post. It happens!

Thanks mods. You do a great job keeping us on track, and since you usually do comment before closing, suspected it was accidental, and hoping it was not a change in policy.

LOL.... I am so glad it wasn't me! Yeah, it is a bit too easy to accidentally close a thread in the mods view...

The good and bad of it is that there has not been much moderator activity lately. Hopefully with our new changes we will increase forum traffic. Most of what Mods and Admins do however are positive. It really has been rare when we locked threads down.

closing the thread on why the thread was closed.

Now that the thread in question was determined to be accidentally closed and has been restored, can we close the thread about why the thread was closed? Very confusing if you come in late.

If you just came in you'll never miss it.
