    Here's their website:

    http://www.animusic.com/

All the music and animation are CG

I think there's a bunch of sample clips on the site if you want to sample some more.

Had me fooled, took me a while to figure out it was animated... Would be fun to actually build something like it! BTW reminded me slightly of the intro to Kansas' "Device Voice Drum" DVD.

I enjoyed that, I'm tempted to get one of the DVDs.

Correction, that's track 6 "Acoustic Curves" on their first DVD.

...and it turns out that sequence was made by the same folks at animusic.

I do some raytracing as a (yet another!) hobby; mostly still pictures although I've played around with one or two short animations. All I can say is this is a tour de force. I have a few ideas as to how they did it, but it would be a lot of work.

It was a huge amount of work. They describe how they did it on their DVD and/or website, I remember reading about it.

The new DVD Animusic 2 is supposed to raise the CG art to a higher level.
I was inspired and ordered it a couple of days ago after watching Animusic 1 in surround sound/subwoofer and 80" projection screen. I had not played it since getting the surround sound.

That was great. That reminds me a LOT of an animated music series called "The Mind's Eye", "Beyond the Mind's Eye", and there's one more which title I can't quite remember. "Beyond the Mind's Eye" is pretty good. The animation is definitely outdated, but it's still interesting to see how far we've come in CG. The music I still think is great though, it was done by Jan Hammer.
