Ryobi 18v Auto Shift Drill with 2 Lithium batteries-$99

Just bought my own Father's Day gift! Home Depot has a sale on the Ryobi 18v Auto Shift Drill with 2 Lithium batteries and a charger for $99 on a Father's Day sale. Says it's regularly $199, but I've never seen this new drill before. 2-pack of Lithium 18v batteries goes for $89.
"I see", said the blind man, so he picked up his hammer and saw.

Never mind, finally found them on a Ryobi display in the middle aisle of the store .

Four on the shelf, with the shelf tag still showing the $199 price. The manager was surprised, it's a completely unadvertised special. The SKU on the receipt shows 033287143351, go get 'em before they're gone....

The unit was on sale in Canada a couple of month ago:
You get a bag, charger, drill and
two batteries, one LARGE, one SMALL....still a good deal.

        Cheers

I got the remaining non-autoshift one with 2 full size battaries. There have been mixed reviews for the autoshift.

To me it was too heavy and I like to have control on drill speed

someone explain to me what an autoshift drill is.
The gear ratio shifts from lo to high automatically (automatic transmission?)?

I'm pretty sure none of mine shift anything except $$$ from my pocket to the manufacturers.

              Autoshift

According to the mfg., autoshift changes from speed mode to power mode as the resistance increases. There is a light on top that indicates when this happens. Ridgid has a new auto-shift drill and others are coming out with this new "innovation", apparently the latest craze. I use my drills professionally, and only time will tell if it is of any value. I have other Ryobi drills that have served me well, and the lithium batteries will come in handy to me.

                Can you post a receipt?

Batteries sell separately - $89 each for the full size... Sounds like a great deal.
