I was a little surprised at the more technical aspect in which Wiki described it. I fully understood it personally, but to put it in the vernacular - the vast majority of blogs are similar to personal journals (dairies), personal soap boxes, personal opinions, personal editorials - written on a web site for all to see in order to gather "like thinking people".
