I'm in. I did not do well but it made me focus and make sure that I kept weighing myself and not ignore the issue.

I didnt do very well the first time we started this and I think I am actually a bit heavier now than at the start of the year. I stand up and take full responsibility although the last 8 months have been tough duty as my Daughter and SIL have been living with us while they saved for a house. What does this have to do with weight you ask. Well my daughter is a baker and is always looking for folks to help her try out new recipes. My SIL is a brewer and that meant our fridge was always full of great beer. I know I didnt have to eat or drink anything but you know how that goes.

As of 2 weeks ago the kids became first time home owners and moved out!

We have now divested ourselves of temptations and as of today my wife and I are starting the Fast Metabolism Diet. A friend introduced us and he has done really well. We especially like the fact that it is based around healthy eating habits and has elements that you can easily incorporate into a post diet eating regime. Unlike the cabbage soup or protein fest faddy diets that trick you body into losing weight and you then put it all back as soon as you stop this FMD does seem (At least on paper) to get your body setup to burn more stored fuel and keeps it that way if you dont slide too far back into unhealthy eating afterwards. Nothing is going to save you from a diet of Mikey Ds and jumbo sodas.

Anyway I will keep you posted and fingers crossed I hope to be at least 12-15 lbs lighter by the end of the 28 day cycle. We will see.

Thought the discussion about starting the week after Easter was in the thread, but when I looked for the post I realized the discussion was actually via PM.

I can reset the dates if we want to start over - though I think I dropped my "chocolate bunny ear weight" this week, after a couple of weeks of little change dropped 6 lbs or so.

Let me know if I should change the dates.

Since you and Neal have logged weights since the start then leave it alone, or if it is alright with him restart. Either way is fine by me, but he is in the lead and deserves credit. I'll weight tomorrow morning and post it.

Any that wants in if you don't receive a PM from woodturner send him one for the link and he'll add you, right?

I forgot to start over after easter on the logging.... This weekend is beyond bad for me... I want to start again as it REALLY helps keep me motivated, but for business reasons (On travel doing a major remote site cutover) I am not able to stay on diet all that well until late next week...

                                FMD Week 1 results

7 days into the Fast metabolism Diet and my first weigh-in. I am pretty happy as I am down 7.4 pounds!

The FMD is really interesting as you never feel hungry and seem to never stop eating. Some of the restrictions take a bit of getting used to but after the first week I don't see an issue with completing the 28 day cycle. I don't expect to keep up the week 1 rate of loss but will be very interested to see what the scales say at the end.
