    Not Just Craigslist

We all have seen and posted C/L ads with outrageous prices for tools where the owner thinks its value has increased exponentially because he, or in this case his Grandpa, owned it. This ad I ran across on Flea Bay might take the cake!

Anyone know when the Stanley Mfg moved to England? I suppose the $12.95 original price might make it 'vintage' but not THAT vintage!

Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Vintage Stanley #5 5 Wood Plane in Original Box.... MINT!!! at the best online prices at eBay! Free shipping for many products!

Holy smokes - sure, it's a fairly nice jack plane --- but not $800 nice.

I have a pre-wwII jack plane - not in this condition, though ---- I spent $50 on mine before I removed the rust, polished it and sharpened/honed the blade - so I figure mine's worth around $100.

Kidney shaped cap iron hole indicates manufacturing post 1933...still really old, but I've got at least five that are pre-'33 in excellent condition and none of them are worth more than $100.
Of course, none were owned (left in a box, why?) by my grandfather, but still...
