I don't know if I paid that much for it new. I've had mine for 12 years or more, though, so some things that far back are kind of fuzzy. I bought it at Lowes if I remember correctly.

$400 seems a bit much, though.

Remember the thread about the drive belts? This will be a brand new machine with 15 year old belts. They may last years but may break quickly, climate controlled whse. or not. A real good $200 saw.

I paid $279 for my BT3100 in 2003. I don't think these saw are collector items yet.

          I think that's a bit much. I got my Bt3100 brand new for $100.

            I'd rather get a R4512 for that price. I think I paid about $275 for my 21829.

amazing to find such an historic relic still in an unopened box. I agree the price is way high but I am sure it will come down somewhat and sell eventually. IIRC I think I paid around $250 for my 3100 when on sale at HD.

I guess we should keep our eyes peeled for a new forum member from LaPorte, TX sometime soon

When they were new to the market they cost more than that. Near the time that Ryobi upgraded to BT3100 the BT3K was selling on closeout for around $200. Even Costco was selling them. I agree this is over priced simply because there is no warranty support.

I figure the OP doesn't really want to sell it.. Probably wife complaining...

"But honey, I listed it for sale and nobody wanted it!"
