    Woodhaven Mortise Jig

I just got the Woodhaven catalog and the mortise jig has caught my eye.

Anyone have one? Pros/cons vs. a dedicated mortiser?

    Thanks!

If you're talking about this - I'd kill for one - just can't afford the shipping [V]

I have my own "poor man's" version.

          Here 'tis

Erik - personally, I avoid "hand-held" router operations where I can.

BUT - let's see if one of the other guys can give you a User opinion...

I got one about a year ago, works pretty good. just be careful about finding/marking the exact center of the thickness of your stock.

Oh, and i use mine with spiral up-cut bits. Also if you use candle wax on the wooden guides, it makes life een easier

I'm new to this, so here's a couple of questions for you:

What type of bit are you using?

              How deep can you mortise?

              Is it stable?

              Thanks!
