Mine is easy. I am an electrical engineer who graduated in 2002. I use that handle in most forums.

Not much thought went into it.... it's my first two initials and my last name.

Unfortunately, I have a rather common name "Charles Smith".... so much so that "Charlie Smith" had become an extreme annoyance at times, like when I earned that really nice plaque for an achievement early in my career, it was labeled "Charlie Smith". Now if your name was 'Robert Q. Whatever', would they have made the plaque as "Bobby Whatever", not likely!

I started going as "C.W. Smith" after that... and that developed into just CWSmith, which it has been my signature for a few decades now.

As you can tell, I'm sensitive about being just another "Charlie Smith" (and thus the monologue, sorry )

Reminds me of a secretary I once worked with, who told someone over the phone to send a document to her, "that's Kathy with a 'K' ". A few days later she received an interoffice envelope addressed to "Cathy Withakay".

A prosaic first letter of my first name, John, and first three letters of my last name (Donhowe). Too lazy to hit the shift key.

When just learning to talk, younger brothers couldn't pronounce "Robert". One pronounced it like "ai-woo", the other as "ai-youp".

            Morphed into "aiyou"

Let's see if I can remember... oh yeah, first name middle initial and last name. Not a show of creativity for a woodworking site.
