I have been considering getting a belt/disc sander. The hitachi seems to be a favorite around here but it is currently about $195 on amazon. I know this unit isnt in the same class but for $29....

Which model, did you get one and do you have a scan of the reciept?

I just called my local Lowes and they are selling them for $54.49. If anybody has a reciept that would be great.

X2 - If anyone could scan a receipt I would appreciate it. I would also like the SKU so I can call my "local" store to make sure they have it before I drive all the way down there. Thanks.

I picked one up last week $65 on clearance. I thought it was a good deal then but $29 grab it. For what I am using it for it is fine. It is noisey but it has decent dust pick up on the disk side but lousy on the belt side. I am using it mainly for pen and stopper turning to true the blanks and used the belt to change the profile on a scraper, but then used my Tormek clone to finish it.

Called my local store and they couldn't find any in stock anywhere in the area. Price was still showing as $99 too. I don't know what the deal is with Lowe's around here, but I never get in on these hot deals...

The one near me has just the display, and it's only marked down to $84.49.

Thats great - both that you got one and you will scan the receipt

I hope I can get one of my local Lowes to honor it.

I take it that this was a general clearance and not a one off return that was being sold from their odds and ends table.

I saw a 9'' task force band saw for $29 at my Lowes. If people are interested when you are looking for the sander. I am not sure about the quality of the band saw it looks cheap, but it is probably worth $29 (75% off).

Yet another Lowes deal that I am sure is not in my region. I have been looking for a deal on a belt&disc sander and had resolved to wait to get the Rigid oscilating. Scoring a deal like this would make that wait a little easier.

I need to go to Lowes tonight, anyway, so I won't be too disappointed since I KNOW they'll have the supply lines I need .

                          Here is the receipt.

It is a general clearance - mine is brand new, unopened. There is still the display model left in the Sunnyvale store.

I checked a local Lowes last night and it looks they cleared out that brand and replaced with nearly identical items from Skil.

I took the receipt copy to my local store and they honored the price $32 and change out the door.

Thanks DTAM - you gotta love the folks on BT3
