    A moment of silence please...

Some of you still remember Cabinetman who practically lived here. I have been communicating with him since his banning about ww'ing and the usual swapping of web stuff. I sent something to him on Aug 28 and he didn't answer right away - the usual e-mail comm with unimportant stuff. I then received a reply to that e-mail and here it is in its entirety:

I’m sorry to let you know that Mike passed away on Sept. 3, 2014 --

    Joan

So, offer up a prayer, a kind thought or at least one of appreciation for his willingness to share his knowledge - at least one of comfort for Joan's sorrow.
    Blessings,
    Chiz

I opted to spawn a new thread instead of move the post. Some sad news about a former member that needed to be on its own thread.

Very sad news. When I first got into woodworking and joined this site he answered many of my questions.

I enjoyed the many posts that Cabinetman made over the many years. I was sorry to hear of the problems which resulted in him leaving the forum. I thought he had so much to offer, but I understood.

His passing is very sad and though I didn't know him personally, I feel sadness for his departure. May God bless him and his family and give his loved one's strength and guidance during this very hard time. I know he will be missed.

My prayers and condolences to his family,

I too had been in contact with him since he got booted. In fact I just sent him something the other day that should have drawn an instant response. Thoughts and prayers of go to Mike, Joan and their family.

Thanks for posting this. It's sad news indeed, but without your post I'd have no way of knowing. I corresponded with him quite a bit on another forum. He'll be missed.

Earlier this week I was just looking at some old threads and Mike's helpful responses to some of my questions, wondered how he was. Prayers for Joan and family.

                          Mike did some really

beautiful cabinet work. He was gifted when it came to wood! I had many a email with him concerning the proper tools to use and the many different woods, etc. He also had a really great humor side to him too. Many a joke, stories, so on. RIP Mike, we miss you. Prayers for his family and friends.

I, like many on this site, kept up with Mike via email after he was banned. My last email from him was in late July. I sent him several emails in mid August but never got a response. (This was unusual.) I wondered if something was wrong and had intended to send him another email this week to ask if he was doing okay.

I just learned of his passing. He was a man of great intelligence and tremendous talent. I will greatly miss his wit, his advice, and his encouragement. My condolences to his wife and family.

                            RIP Mike. RIP, my friend.
