    Back To The Hospital

I will be going back in for another surgery on Tuesday. This one is to reconnect the intestine, pave the way for the elimination of the illoscopy bag, and a return to near normal functions. The surgeon says it will take 1 1/2 - 3 hours for the surgery and I will be in the hospital 3-7 days. In about 6 weeks I will need a 3rd, relatively minor surgery to remove the bag and close everything up.

I am using a different hospital this time. My surgeon has privileges at 3 in San Antonio. Where the first surgery was done is under renovation and the surgical floors are old and in disrepair. There was mold growing in the bathroom/shower of my room. Because of all the IV's I had in me I couldn't get out of bed and didn't see this until I was being discharged.

I will be in Northeast Methodist Hospital this time. I went in yesterday to take care of the preadmissions and tests the doctor ordered.

After everything was done the woman that did the tests took me up to the floor I will be on for my stay. I was introduced to Stefanie (young, blond, and cute), the charge nurse for the shift and told I wanted to see the floor. She looked down from the step stool she was on hanging garland, pointed down and said there it is. "Kinda light brown and it shines..." Think we are going to get along and I hope the rest of the nursing staff has that kind of attitude.

Plan to take a laptop with me so I will check back in Wednesday or Thursday as soon as my head is fairly clear.
