Cutting carbs WAY back, and heading into the gym more... I have got to get a handle on this...

Tonight is a cardio class and then laps in the indoor pool, Tomorrow night is going to be weights...

God willing and no injuries, I should start seeing numbers drop...

FWIW, I am down 10 since Thanksgiving...

So far I have the following schedule not counting days I can't because of work...

Monday: Light cardio / or fast walk across the office building campus if weather permits.
Tuesday and Thursday Aquafit and weights.
Wednesday: Home chores, shop cleanup, shop time if I can eke it in...
Friday, Rest day / date night with LOML.
Saturday, Cardio (45 min treadmill) then weights.

Daily. Min 30 minutes bass playing. I am trying to re-develop what I let go for a while due to busy life... Music is important to me, and I do NOT want to lose the skill. It helps me keep my hands nimble and my brain sane...

Oh, yeah, does cleaning the shop, and playing bass count as excersize (I get awfully sweaty during practice... I move a LOT as I crawl the fret board...)

We kept the feast meals pretty protein and vegetable oriented, no stuffing, no potatoes, and sadly, no candied yams... The lost pounds were worth it...

I PMed the spreadsheet link to those who said they are "in", but I see several people have not entered their weight for 1/10/2015.

The sharing permissions were not set right initially, so if you tried and could not enter your weight, please try again, it should be fixed now.

              Thanks.

Not a good week and obviously not much of a new regime as I only dropped half a pound. I guess I need to be a bit more focused.

I wish I could say that I lost anything... but I actually gained 1.6 lbs raising my weight to 178.6! Must have been the quest to finish up those cookies. The good news is that I've dropped a full pound since yesterday morning and am now a 177.6.

Guess it was the almost two hours I spent chopping ice out at the end of my driveway which resulted in being too tired to eat much of anything.

Due to carbo loading and hydration I gained a bunch. I'll not log what my scale told me Saturday morning. Middle of last week I was up 5 pounds.....

177 lbs....(sigh)....Those days are so long ago. Like freshman year in college 25 years ago gone.....

I did drop a bunch the first week though. THe dietary changes have been substantial at my house.

                      I'm downright mean most nights.

I'd almost give my left nut for a bag of potato chips and a half gallon of good ice-cream!

                      I'll be healthier.....I'll be healthier.....I'll be healthier....I'll be healthier....

Friday morning I was down 5.2 pounds ... then my one of my college age daughters called and said she and her boyfriend were coming and could I make real food ... and blueberry cobbler ... and for breakfast Saturday morning, Swedish apple pancakes and carmel hot chocolate and the weekend went on and on like that. Now i'm only down .4 pounds and I have a fridge full of leftovers.

I'm down, but I went off the diet this weekend...

Had a jam session with a colleague and spent LOTS of time hauling / packing and testing Christmas lights before I jam it all back up in the attic. At least the HOA can't complain now...

Back to low carbing it tomorrow morning, and hitting the gym tomorrow night...

                                Neal,

You should understand where I started... I spent the first third of my life terribly underweight, down right skinny! At 23, when I got married, I weighed only 117 lbs. and in my early 30's I was still only at about 135-140.

Then came the computer, and I found myself, for the first time in my life, SITTING. That led to eating too many snacks, just to keep from falling asleep. Unfortunately that snacking bled over to evening TV watching, etc.

By the late 90's I was up to 206 and saw a reflection of myself one day coming into a lobby where there was big mirror. That person sort of shocked me, as it simply wasn't the body that I was used to seeing or imagining myself to be.

Since then, I've been struggling to bring my weight down and not too successfully. My average weight prior to this past hospital experience has been fluctuating between 184 and 189. (That was the first time in my life that I've been in the hospital, and I don't want a repeat of that.)

Challenge now, and probably for many of us, is that I love to eat. I'm always grabbing for something, left overs, chips, that bowl of ice cream which I love, and two or three pieces of candy or cupcakes, every few hours during the day. My wife doesn't help much, as she loves to cook and bake, and I love that about her.

I'm 70 now, with Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure. Just having my weight drop below 190 has tremendously helped the diabetes and now that I'm below 180, my glucose levels are easier maintained and not fluctuating wildly. Skinny is still in my memory, but I never want to return to those that again. But, 165 or 170 would be nice, and I think that's achievable with out too much sacrifice.
