    Back tp the hospital

Had an appointment with my colorectal surgeon today. I am scheduled to go back in the hospital on the 26th for the third and final surgery. This will be the final surgery to connect the intestines and get rid of the colposcopy bag. I have been having an ongoing problem with an infection in the original surgery site and he is going to go back in there and clean up any signs of infection remaining.

Hopefully I can recover and get back to work by the end of March or the beginning of April!

Got home yesterday. They ran an EKG twice in preop and both times showed I was having an acute heart attack. I had zero pain or any other symptoms. Surgery was cancelled and I was sent to a room. The cardiologist said he disagreed with the computer reading of the EKG but wanted to run some tests to be sure. After 2 blood draws and a nuclear stress test Friday morning he cleared me for the surgery.

No way to get the surgery done so I was discharged and will have to call on Monday to get it rescheduled.

The wife went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and he put her in the hospital here with an initial diagnosis of bronchitis and pneumonia. No idea how long she will be in the hospital so it creates a problem getting home after surgery. If she is still in the hospital or unable to drive to San Antonio and back I will have to drive myself home. Since I will be hospitalized 4-7 days after surgery I would feel comfortable driving myself but I don't know if the hospital will allow that.
