Finished Jewelry Box for wife's birthday

Just a few pics (hopefully better than some previously posted) to show the completed piece.

Quarter sawn red oak (from a single 4'x2"x8" piece).

Analine dye for color and then brush on semi-gloss poly and then rub with 0000 steel wool.

Learned about cutting glass on this project.

This project took me many more hours than I anticipated ... BUT ... I expect to build 3 more for Christmas presents and hopefully will have learned enough on this one to speed up a little.

Bade, very nice work - that finish really shows off the grain fleck in the oak top.

The first pictures you posted looked almost like the wood was rough cut. Now that the finish is done there is a world of difference. I like the contrast of the drawer pull backings and the door handles.

Thank ya'll for the nice comments

I think the app I used on the "in progress" pics did some kind of "sharpening aboration"

The "plan" calls for black walnut and maple... I had red and white oak.
