Freud 3 1/4 HP Router at Lowe's

Was at my local Lowe's today in Portage Indiana and picked up a Freud model FT2200 3 1/4 HP Plunge Router for $75 in their Clearance bin.

Even if its a customer return (assuming everything is there), that's an awesome price. The Lowes on my side of town in Lexington still has the Freud FT2000 for $169. That's their yellow tag price. A whole $10.00 off. It's been there awhile.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm trying to figure out if it's return or not so I know wether or not to even bother checking my Lowes. If he tells me there are several in the bin then it's worth my time but a return would be a local deal only.

My apologies. I wasn't trying to be rude, argumentative or downplay your question. I was simply complaining that I can never find those deals at my local Lowes. As you can see, they mark things down very slowly, and in very small increments.

It appears that Lowes is moving the FT2200 out. It is on clearance for $129.xx in the Seattle area. According to Charles M Freud on Routerfourms.com

the FT2200 is the replacement for the FT2000. This router has a 5 year warranty.

Brand new. There were 4 of them, had been marked down to $129 and that was crossed off and they were marked down again to $75. Called a friend and he went over and bought one also. 2 left as of this evening.

Seems to be a toss up. There are stores that will do it every time and those that refuse. I have had stores, meet and beat clearance prices, namely my local York PA store but across the river, only 20 miles away, Lancaster refuses!

The new FT-3000 with above table bit changes and height adjustment is due out very soon...could be clearing out the 2000/2200 for the 3000.

Does anybody have a receipt from around New Jersey for the Freud router? My Lowes will price match, but not with a store that is out of the "region." For $75, the Freud router is a GREAT deal!
