makita 2 1/4 HP variable speed kit: $150

Heavy duty tools has a Makita 2 1/4 HP plunge/fixed base kit with variable speed for $150 including free shipping, lower than the best price at Amazon. The price displayed on their web page shows as $199.93, but you can use the discount code RF to get $50 off bringing the total to ~$150.

Not that I need another router (yeah, yeah I know) but this seems like a good deal for a variable speed Makita that could be used as a handheld.

I think $150 is a very good deal but the $115 they sold it for last year was a great deal. I think LARRYG has this kit and would be able to advise if this price is worth pulling the trigger or to hold out for something else during a crazy two-hour deal on Amazon.

Hey, I paid $150. It's kewl to think about $115 a year ago but then again, it sure isn't tough news to have this fine Makita 2-fer for $40 "rent" for a whole year. It also arrived in about ten minutes and I'm very VERY happy to have it right now.
