    Router Lift for amateurs

    Good day

    I would like to share with you an idea for router lift that I made for a friend.

    Because I don't have a "cabinet" router table, I made a mock-up so, a little bit of imagination please...

    40mm = 1-9/16" (2" will also do the job)
    18~20mm...3/4"

    Regards
    niki

    Another good one niki. You should have a special forum here for niki's tool tips.

      I assume that the wingnut is loosened when you want to change the elevation, then tightened to lock the router in place. And that, knowing the pitch of the bolt, you could make pretty precise elevation adjustments.

      Niki, do you remove the springs from your plunge router?

        Thank you for mentioning it, I forgot...

        You are correct, after I set the height, I lock the screw (bolt) with the wing nut, but I like to lock also the plunge lock.

        This bolt dia is 8mm and every turn gives 1mm so its very easy to set the next height (1mm=5/128").

        I did not remove the springs from any of the routers.

        Thanks

          Somehow I missed this thread. Thank you, Niki, for the great tip. Simple enough to do, and it's the right price too!
