HF Third Hand

I went by HF today to look at these. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=95746

They had 30 in stock but would not sell them. They told me that they were all being returned to the factory as "defective items". They would not clarify what the defect was. Perhaps it was just the batch that this store had but wanted to notify everyone who purchased these to really check them out before the 30 return is up. YMMV.

If there really is a defective issue here then I doubt if the 30 day return policy makes any difference. If they're defective they pretty much have to take them back no matter how long you've had them.

Although I've only had the two I bought for a few days, so far I have no issues with either of them.

Went to the HF here in Milwaukee for a couple. They said they were sold out of the item but gave me a raincheck. Will have to see if they do have a recall on them.

Could be that store didn't want to sell them for that price! Saying that they are defective would sure stop the sale! And probably no raincheck requests. Sorry, it's my pessimistic side showing through. Jim.

Stopped by a HF store in Mpls last week to buy a couple, they were sold out and gave me a rain check. Will have to check them out when I get them. Sure is a sweet price!!

Something tells me that something that would cause a product recall at HF, must stem from a serious safety issue, such as something falling on sombody's head, for instance. Everybody be careful.

Interesting...I ordered three online (along with a few other things) and received my order today - minus the 3 Third Hands. They said they were back ordered.

I have been calling once a week since this started.
Call three stores within driving distance.
All say, not this week.
Last week one clerk said they have not been recalled.

I don't know what that supposed recall deal was/is about but the two that I got back in July have worked flawlessly.
