Forum members,
Sam and Adele are totally UNaware of what is about to be shared with you in this post, but they will find out.
Life has thrown a whopper at Sam and Adele recently. We (a few friends that are aware of the situation and the moderators also) are asking if you might be able to help them out in some way, since they have been the ones to bring us together as an online family and community through this forum.
Adele had a wreck a couple of months ago and had surgery scheduled about 3 days later. The surgery wasn't related to the car wreck and had been planned for months in advance.
A few weeks ago, while still recovering from surgery, she had a setback and had to be readmitted to the hospital for almost a week.
Of course, the wreck totalled her vehicle and they were forced to purchase a replacement vehicle... ending up with a car payment. In addition to the extra hospital bills and doctor co-payments they are dealing with, their other van started making a knocking noise as Sam and their son David were returning from a hiking trip down in Tennessee. The engine threw a rod and it was totally blown out. Probably $3000 to $3500 for a van that's worth about $2000 now.
I am not going to tell Sam how I found this out - but - there is a low mileage 12 year old station wagon in the town where he lives for a decent price, around $2000, and he would love to purchase it. But with the new vehicle purchased after the wreck and the additional medical bills from the setback, he does not want to incur another car payment at the moment.
All this to say. . . do you think we could raise some money on the forum to help Sam and Adele out? Everyone has been GREAT about fundraising to keep the site up and running. I'm thinking with the type of people that we have on BT3Central that we could raise the money within a few days!
Fellows, ladies, is there any way you can see to help Sam and Adele? They have done a lot for many many people on this forum and for many that we do not even know.
Suggestions or ideas on how you may be able to help out would be appreciated.
