    Miter Sled

Well after spending most of the weekend on plumbing issues I finally got into the shop. Having made my X-Cut sled I figured I should complete the set and made this Miter Sled.

Technically its not quite finished as I still have to align and fix the angle block to the base but I ran out of time as LOML was putting dinner on the table.

In theory its a simple design but I spent quite a long time tuning the angle block to get it dead on 90 degrees. I figured if I want perfect miters it was worth the time.

If it ends up as accurate as the X-cut sled (which is dead on) I will be very happy.

Awesome PH! I hope it is as accurate as you want it to be. Looks good to me!
I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

Looks very clean and professional. What base did you use - I see a number of holes on it?

        very cool

Now you need to figure out the perfect storage system for all of the sleds!

That's the easy part Miter sled under the xcut sled (behind the ladder)

The base was made from some 5/8 melamine. Most of the holes are CSinks where the runners are attached. I could say the ones in the corners are for aerodynamics or storing it on the wall but that would be BS as the board was recycled from another project and it just happend to have some holes in. Doesnt affect the operation.

I think mine will have to live proped against my bench as I am using nearly all my wall space.
