    My new planer stand

I have a bunch of planing to do on some hard maple, and my old mobile planer stand left a lot to be desired. It was just a box on wheels. The real problem were the casters, which were really bad, making it less mobile than desired.

So I built a new one, with some much needed storage, I also used a new blast gate from Rockler that has a flange for mounting it, check it out...

That's a great solution. You may someday even want to add a pair of fold-away infeed/outfeed extension tables to it, and then sell the patent!

You gotta knock it off. You are making me look bad!

Seriously though. Very nice work. Beats the tar out of my router cart!

          Very Cool

How are the drawers supported? Never mind I went back and looked And it was obvious. Short memory or something!

Great stand and now you have a lot of new storage too! Good looking project!
I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

The stuff you build for your shop is nicer than the non-shop stuff I build.

And you do everything right, including cutting those drawer fronts from a single piece of wood.

                  Very nice.

And I love the blast gate, too.

Keith, I love it. I just bought at DW735 about 6 months ago and also have a flimsy mobile cart for mine. I found a pair of extension wings on CL yesterday cheap and now know what kind of new cart I am making for myself.
