I told you I'd post pics concerning blade/miscellaneous storage. I'm not quite finished, but I removed an old freezer, and built a storage solution. There are eight pieces of pegbaord, each about 24" X 40". Each one slides out for access.

Now that is an interesting use of peg board. Are you using both sides?

It's an interesting application, and could be a good use of space, but I quit using peg board years ago after getting tired of picking up the hooks off the floor, and bench tops.

            Ah...

            Yeah, cheap hooks do that...

I have some that have sort of a fish hook end that have the opposite problem. They stick in too good and are a pain to remove when you want to move a hook...

I use little black plastic straps that clip into two adjacent holes to keep my hooks on. They're difficult to remove by hand, but they pop right off with a flat bladed screwdriver. They work very well, but not all hooks can accept them. The bright side is the hooks that don't accept them tend to stay in pretty good on their own.

                cool i like that.
i forget what mag or site i saw the idea on, but another 1 i like had 5 or so pegboards mounted close together to a wall with piano hinge,so you could flip them like pages,or like those racks for posters in stores..took up less room and seemed like a good solution

I have seen that several places. Wood Magazine has done several versions, and I THINK one of my fellow Texans based out of a shed / shop did that, not sure if it was Pappy or who, but it was within the last year in the shop setup section...

Agreed, those black tabs make some lousy hooks worthwhile, and even then, those style are a little iffy. I really like the ones that have 2 pins, the upper one that kind of snakes its way in, and the lower straight one. I have never had one of those come out...

These from Stanley that I found on Amazon are what I am talking about...

Unforunately the BORG near me don't carry those, so I have to try to rush into Ace Hardware when they are open.. (My local Ace closes at 6:00 P.M. and I can't always get in there...)

I did a double sided 2x2 door and another sheet on the wall in the stud space. There's some more in this thread: http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=39255

I wouldn't go deeper than one swinging door. It would make getting to things in the back a chore.

That's what I'm using, for the most part. They seem to work fine. I found a package of 32 pieces for $.72 each, about 1/4 price at Lowes, when they were getting rid of them. I bought what they had. I think it was 6 packages.

Thanks for the comments. It's a better use of space than having that old chest type freezer there.

Maybe, but if you can figure out how to put a usable quantity of peg board on a kegerator you might just be in business...
