My Super Cheap Outfeed Table (Finally)

Directly from the "Why Didn"t I Do This YEARS Ago Department" I present my outfeed table.

A billion thanks go to (former?) member Gugie, who put up this site, from which I filched his idea:

gugie.com - Contact us for any business inquiries

It's basically just a cut down hollow core door, attached to hinges connected to the back rails via T-Nuts. Brilliantly simple.

All told, I spent well under $10--the door was picked out of the trash . It was varnished or something, so I had to paint it. All I bought were the T-Nuts and hinges. Everything else was scrap.

Sorry, the pictures are dark. I'm too lazy to replace a bulb tonight...

Freecycling rocks. And that is a great implementation to boot!

Simplicity and frugality is always admirable and worth emulating.

One place to find free doors: I volunteer for our neighborhood annual garbage/recycle day I have seen many good looking doors being sent to trash. I'm keeping my eyes open this year :-) Similar garbage/recycle events are organized at many churches/schools and it would be worth looking.

Cool! You're really going to like it.
I had the very same 'should have done this a long time ago' feeling when I got mine done. I also took a bunch of clues from Gugie.
I ended up making mine a removable knockdown since my 21829 gets moved every session. http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=41179

              Joe,

It looks like your table is higher than the saw table. Is it an optical illusion?

No, it's actually about 3/16" or so lower than the top of the table. My "shop" is very crowded at the moment with bikes, scooters, Cozy Coupes, etc. that don't get put away properly so I didn't have room to take any decent pictures.

I had forgotten about outfeed tables from hollowcore doors. I know where at least one of mine being replaced is going.

Hope it comes out as good as yours.

An Even Cheaper --and lower tech--Outfeed Table

The frame was made from ripped 2X4, and the table a scrap piece of 1/2 inch plywood. Crude, but it works. Wanna trade tables? I'll throw in a dozen 1" drywall screws to boot.
