    My first piece of furniture

Built this as a wedding gift for my best friend. Purchased 1x6 oak s4s since I don't yet own a planer. Glued up the legs from 4 pieces and then cut tapers on two sides. Legs are joined to apron with mortise and tenon (another first for me). Top is joined to base using the rockler table top fastners.

Of course I see all the flaws, but overall I'm happy and looking forward to the next project.

      Great Job!

      Nice background for the photos.

I think the hardest thing to do after building something is to ignore the imperfections. I find most of the time people don't notice even if I point out my mistakes.

That's a nice one! And it will always be special to your friend, because you built it yourself.

How hard is it to mow under that table? Okay seriously though. That looks very nice. Your gift recipient should be very happy to receive it...

Nice work on the table. The color and finish look very good. Handmade gifts are from the heart. I hope you signed it somewhere.
