Holiday gifts

I got started on some holiday gifts over the last few weeks and have been making some cutting boards. Here is an example of an end grain butchers block, a regular cutting board and some cheese boards.

Jon, very nice looking boards. What were the woods used?

Nice work, Jon...those will be appreciated by the recipients.

I really like the one in the top picture...at first glance, it looks the a solid piece zig-zagging up the middle!

Beautiful boards, all. What kind of glue?

The woods used were Maple, Cherry, Paduak, Walnut & White Oak. Glue was TB3.

The design layout makes a big difference in the finished look. Once I knew roughly how big each piece would be I used the computer and made a "tile" for each. I then rearranged into differrent patterns to see which looked best.

Having LOML take a look also helped

Good looking gifts. Is the difference between the cutting board and the cheese board just the size?
