LOL, she had practice, but without a doubt because of her height, she must have been in charge of the pony wall towards the back of the garage
Looks great twist! Don't you love how fast block and stick can go up!I think in straight lines, but dream in curvesComment

Long delayed update
After a winter of snow, melt, mud, repeat I finally had a day to spend to finish up the garage to get ready for the framing inspection. Raining again today so I'm back to mud. I also decided this will be the new shop rather than keeping in the other garage with the two cars. It'll share with the tractor and the landscape trailer, both of which can be left outside with grumbling from SWMBO.
And no ladder needed for the back
I'm having the roofing and siding done for me, so it should go pretty quickly from here on out.Chr's

Inspection is scheduled for nex week week then roof and siding. Working in Detroit and Toronto until October so I just hope to get the exterior done before next winter. Work seems to hinder everything except paychecks.Chr's

it looks like there's 2-3' between the side walls and the respective closest edge of each garage door. if i'm right, that's good space for storing staionary power tools on mobile bases. and placing the entry door near a corner leaves more uninterrupted interior wall space for benches and miter saw stands, where the bench can function as an infeed table for the MS. good luck with the project.there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.Comment

What are you doing for lighting? The reason I ask is since the roof is not on yet, would skylights be an option, not the traditional window type units, but the dome type or sun tunnels that have become popular. Some of them let in a significant amount of light.I think in straight lines, but dream in curvesComment

Just got a call from the county inspector that the garage passed the framing inspection. My roofer is scheduled for the weekend of May 5th and hopefully I can get at least one door installed this weekend. Still waiting on a call back from the electrician to get the service installed.
I've considered skylights but I've never liked the looks of them from the outside plus the walnut trees throw crap at the roof all year long that stains badly if it gets hung up on anything.
My lighting plan calls for 20 recessed can lights on two separate circuits plus three lines of track lights for directional spots. Definitely overkill but as I get older I seem to need it brighter to see and it's a lot easier to do now than later.Chr's

Looks great! One thing I noticed is your outside grade appears to be very close to some of the sheathing. Code generally requires exterior grade to be a minimum of 6" below siding. It's a good guidline to help prevent rot.Comment
